The event took place from July 10–12, 2026, at Lyndon Top near Rutland Water in the UK, supporting BirdLife International and its “Preventing Island Extinctions” project in São Tomé and Príncipe. - [Wild Wings Tailormade Mammals of Sri Lanka Arne Secelle & Edith Verschorre 19 March 2026.](https://birdwatchingsrilanka.com/wild-wings-tailormade-mammals-of-sri-lanka-arne-secelle-edith-verschorre-19-march-2026/): It’s not often that we are able to have excellent sightings and photos of the four wild cats of Sri Lanka, however on this tour we had all the tick boxes marked. The tour started with fabulous sightings of Leopard, Jungle Cat and Fishing Cat during our first three nights stay in Wilpattu. Two Sloth Bears also showed well during our safaris. Our guide was able to show them all the endemic birds along with other rare winter migrants and most of the mammal species as well.

Along with some cultural and historic sites we included excursions to view waterfalls and of course the bird and wildlife.

As a part of this tour clients contributed towards the Pekoe Trails project through the Charity Walk and we were led on this excursion by Miguel Cunat himself (founder of the Pekoe Trails) This luxury tour was put together with some of the most sort after glamping accommodation, women run hotels, boutique properties and 5-star accommodation, giving the clients the best overall experience of Sri Lanka.
- [Naturetrek Tailormade - Jonathan & Claire Moore 3 February 2026](https://birdwatchingsrilanka.com/naturetrek-tailormade-jonathan-claire-moore-3-february-2026/): These clients visited Sri Lanka before but had not visited the North Central and Uva & Eastern Province. Together with Naturetrek we designed this Tailormade itinerary which captured the essence of these areas including cultural & historical sites and the Gal Oya Nilgala National Park for some of the rare birds such as the Painted Francolin and the Yellow-footted Green Pigeon. As per the request of the clients, no group photo to be published.
- [Richard & Janice Price 29 January 2026](https://birdwatchingsrilanka.com/richard-janice-price-29-january-2026/): This was their first tour to Sri Lanka and lasted 22 days with a very carefully planned out itinerary which included all the important cultural and historic places, wildlife excursions and trekking in scenic locations. They also experienced the Sri Lanka vs England Cricket match in Kandy and enjoyed the upcountry train ride. Despite the aftermath of the Ditwa Storm, all activities were able to be done with the coordination of the clients and us.
- [Mark & Amanda Banfield 26 January 2026](https://birdwatchingsrilanka.com/mark-amanda-banfield-26-january-2026/): This is the second visit of Mark & Amanda to Sri Lanka and having covered almost all of Sri Lanka in their previous tour, they still wanted to experience more. We arranged for them to experience the Sri Lanka vs England T20 match in Colombo and included the scenic train ride in the hill country before sending them to the south to enjoy the wildlife safaris and a well-deserved break at a luxurious beach resort.

- [Wild Wings - Rare Mammals and Endemic Birds Tour March 2025.](https://birdwatchingsrilanka.com/wild-wings-rare-mammals-and-endemic-birds-tour-march-2025/): Despite some unexpected changes in the weather and flight delays we had a successful tour with almost all the target endemic mammals and plenty of birds. 36 mammals, 148 birds and 15 reptiles and amphibians were recorded during the tour. We had a challenge in recording the Red-slender Loris due to heavy rains although it was definitely heard and the Golden Palm Civet and the Yellow-striped Chevrotain were not to be located with the down pours. - [Birdwatching Sri Lanka at the Global Bird Fair 2024](https://birdwatchingsrilanka.com/blog-name/): Birdwatching Sri Lanka was happy to represent Sri Lankas Birding and Wildlife Tourism sector at the Global Bird Fair in Rutland UK. The event showcases birding and wildlife tour operators products from around the world and engages in raising funds for conservation towards vulnerable and endangered species. This year’s event attracted over 10,000 visitors and had over 300 exhibitors. Various wildlife professionals gave interesting lectures on their countries wildlife richness and addressed issues such as climate change, habitat loss and the need to do more to uphold the industry through sustainable and ethical practices for both businesses and tourists.
