Global Birdfair 2026 attracted more than 14,000 visitors and approximately 300 exhibitors, but the total final amount raised has not yet been publicly disclosed.
The event took place from July 10–12, 2026, at Lyndon Top near Rutland Water in the UK, supporting BirdLife International and its “Preventing Island Extinctions” project in São Tomé and Príncipe. According to the organizers on the official Global BirdFair site, the final donation total from ticket sales and fundraising will be officially announced during the BirdLife Partnership meeting in September 2026
Birdwatching Sri Lanka was once again a proud participant of this event and also had the honor of conducting a workshop at the Owl Workshop to discuss the beauty of Sri Lankas birds & wildlife and the key elements to focus on when going on a photography tour. The session was called “A Journey Through Your Lens” and we had a full house despite the hot weather.
